Which voluntary plan is best for me?

There is no one size fits all when it comes to Meal Plans so we offer a variety of options to best fit your needs. Choose your meal plan based on how often you’ll be eating on campus.  There are 16 weeks per semester.  If you are on campus only once per week and only need one meal and a snack while on campus the Jinx Meal Plan is probably right for you.  If you are on campus Monday thru Friday for a good part of the day the Jag Plan could be good for you.  If you live in a residence hall (other than University Tower or Ball Hall), or you live in off-campus housing, and desire a more robust plan, the 16 Meal Plan Plus-V or All Access-V Plan would be a good fit.

The 16 Meal Plan Plus-V consists of sixteen (16) meal swipes per week for one semester to be used at Tower Dining and $150 flex dollars to be used at any of the IUPUI Food Services locations. In this plan, Meal Swipe usage is restricted to one (1) meal swipe per meal period. There are four (4) meal periods per day - breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night. Flex dollars have no usage restrictions except that they are to be used by end of the spring semester. There is no refund or credit given for unused flex dollars or meal swipes.

The All Access Plan-V is great for those students that live on or near campus (except those students residing in University Tower or Ball Residence Hall whom must choose a mandatory plan) who want unlimited access into the University Tower Dining Hall with no restrictions and greatest schedule flexibility. The All Access Plan-M is a Meal Swipe only plan, no Flex Dollars are included. However, the Flex Dollar Add-On can be purchased to add even greater flexibility and variety so one can dine at the other 14 IUPUI Food Services locations.

All voluntary meal plans are for one semester only. Refer to the chart below for a general breakdown of meals and flex dollars.

VOLUNTARY MEAL PLAN COMPARISON CHART

Which mandatory plan is best for me?

To figure out the right plan for you, start by thinking about your eating habits. Are you a light eater who grabs a bagel in the morning and a salad for lunch or do you need three square meals a day to function properly?  Do you graze all day or power-eat like an athlete? Do you do well with scheduled meals and times or do you prefer to figure it out as you go?

The All Access Plan-M is great for those students at Ball Hall or The University Tower who want unlimited access into the University Tower Dining Hall with no restrictions and greatest schedule flexibility. The All Access Plan-M is a Meal Swipe only plan, no Flex Dollars are included. However, the Flex Dollar Add-On can be purchased to add even greater flexibility and variety so one can dine at the other 14 IUPUI Food Services locations. This mandatory meal plan (All Access Plan-M) will be automatically assigned to the Ball Hall or University Tower resident that does not complete the sign up process for a meal plan.

The 16 Meal Plan Plus-M is great for those students at Ball Hall or the University Tower that typically eat at scheduled times, eat three, sometimes four, times per day, and occasionally like to dine at IUPUI Food Services locations such as the Campus Center Food Court, University Library Jag Java, or the Law School Docket. The 16 Meal Plan Plus-M consists of sixteen (16) meal swipes per week to be used at Tower Dining and $150 flex dollars per semester to be used at any of the IUPUI Food Services locations. Meal Swipe usage is restricted to one (1) meal swipe per meal period. There are four (4)meal periods per day - breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night. Flex dollars have no usage restrictions except that they are to be used by end of the spring semester. There is no refund or credit given for unused flex dollars or meal swipes.

Whatever your eating preferences and habits are, we work hard to make sure you are properly taken care of at IUPUI Food Service.

How do Meal Swipes work?

Meal Swipes are used only at Tower Dining. They work like a debit card using Jagtag. The number of meal swipes you purchased are deposited into your Meal Plan Jagtag account and swipes are automatically deducted at the cash register as you enter at the Tower Dining location. One entry into Tower Dining equals one Meal Swipe. Your receipt will display your remaining balance after each meal swipe. Jinx, Jaws, and Jag Meal Swipes are to be used in one semester. Any remaining Meal Swipes at the end of the semester will be lost. The 16 Meal Plan Plus Meal Swipes are to be used per week (16 total Meal Swipes per week).  Any remaining Meal Swipes at the end of the week do not rollover to the next week, they are lost. The All Access Meal Swipes are unlimited per week and per semester, in other words you can use as many Meal Swipes as you’d like per week or per semester.

An IUPUI meal plan is the perfect way to ensure you receive the nutrition you need while at IUPUI. This prepaid meal plan account guarantees you have quality food readily available while on-campus.
